It’s official, we’ve been open for a few days and things are running smoothly! Thanks to our friends and family for being our “warm up” patients while we work on smoothing our systems and routine.

We get a lot of questions about our decor and I thought I’d just mention a few pieces and share a bit about them. The first is pictured below, our reclaimed wooden end table. With our decor we wanted to be modern but add lots of touches of nature. This end table, found on Etsy, is the perfect combination of the two.

Next is our reception desk! What a beauty! The counters are slabs of solid fir and the entire piece is reclaimed. Portico of Portland helped us realize our design of this piece and said that just three weeks earlier, a few of the wood panels on the bottom had been part of a  fireplace mantel. They also created a single planked, raw edged office desk that is just flat out amazing and two reclaimed wood shelves for our kitchen.

Behind the reception desk, above our paperless fast check-in kiosk is one of two eco-preserved pieces of wall art we have in the practice. The piece above is reindeer moss and the piece below is a variety of ferns with moss. Neither piece requires watering because it is eco-preserved, described as removing the natural fluid and replacing it with an almost sugar substance. It’s such a beautiful way to bring a bit of nature indoors!
